Every Aspect of the Game

At Pickleball paradise, the instructors introduce every aspect of the game—proper form on every stroke, when to use which one, body movement, partner positioning, teamwork, strategy, court sense, patience, building the point, and when to put the ball away. For each aspect of the game, the pros explain its importance, demonstrate correct positioning and movement, and then break into small groups to practice with drills that build in difficulty. At the close of each half-day session, 7-minute, rotating games enabled campers to put it all together in a fun mini tournament. By the end of the second day, all aspects of the game have been addressed and practiced, and campers are ready for the final morning.

On the last day, the group is divided into four team (Eagles, Loons, Osprey and Owls), with four levels, so everyone gets to compete for the gold. With camaraderie and team spirit, partners vie for wins until the top two teams emerge, and their top pairings play one another for the finals. Emphasis is on fun! The camp concludes with a “dink-off” game, and demonstration matches by the instructors (who are all 5+ ranked). After a final swim in the lake and lunch, everyone heads home to absorb the fire hose of instruction and begin practicing all they have learned.
